& What is Her message for the World?
The History
A cloistered Conceptionist sister named Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres received visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary between 1594 and 1634. Our Lady appeared to her during this time and asked her if she would like to be called Nuestra Senora del Buen Suceso, which translates to Our Lady of Good Success in English. In talking to Mother Mariana, the Mother of God discussed the future of the Holy Catholic Church, particularly during the 20th century. Our Blessed Mother described to Mother Mariana a grave crisis that would occur in the Church at that time, as well as in society in general. The severity of the crisis was conveyed so clearly that this poor sister died of watching what was about to happen to the Church.
What was Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres told?
Our Lady of Good Success told Mother Mariana that God was ready to punish the world for three major sins: blasphemy, impurity, and heresy. It was Our Lady of Good Success who prophesied to Mother Mariana about the “total corruption of customs” occurring at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries under the reign of Satan in society through Freemasonry. During these terrible times, Our Lady foretold, sacraments would no longer be held in high esteem by the faithful due to those in positions of authority. As a result, these people would be used by the devil to destroy the Church during these times. Many souls would be lost due to this deprivation of the Sanctifying and Sacramental Graces among the faithful. As a result, society would suffer greatly. It would result in a tremendous loss of vocations.
The Blessed Mother told Mother Mariana that penance and suffering, prayer and self-denial are necessary not only for the Convent, but also for the Church and the world. Therefore, Mother Mariana was asked by the Blessed Mother whether she would be willing to become a victim soul for the convent but also for the future Church. In their conversation, Our Lady of Good Success revealed that Her Divine Son had requested that Mother Mariana suffer for the sake of souls. During these visits, Mother Mariana provided instruction, guidance, and encouragement as part of her mission. These apparitions also contained prophecies that proved to Mother Mariana that the Church would fall into a dire state and also provided evidence that these visions were genuine. Not only did prophecies foretell changes in Quito and Ecuador’s culture, society, and government but also in the universal Church, society, and culture in a global sense.
Eternal Flame extinguished?
In 1634, on the 40th anniversary of Our Lady’s first appearance to Mother Mariana, one of the most memorable prophetic visions occurred. The Sanctuary lamp went out as Mother Mariana prayed before the Blessed Sacrament in the upper choir loft. Mother Mariana was left in total darkness. The extinguishing of the Sanctuary Light anticipated the dire circumstances in which the Church would find itself during this future era.
In her prophecies, Our Lady of Good Success was quite clear on what would bring the Catholic Church to its doom – a lax and perverse clergy. As a result, certain Catholic clergy members would steal the Tabernacle light…thieves seeking to steal what we are rightfully entitled to because of our baptism into the Catholic Church. Our doctrine, dogma, and tradition would be stripped from us – we would be left in total darkness without even the light of the Sanctuary Lamp (which symbolizes the presence of Christ in the Eucharist). In her explanation of the five reasons for the extinguishing of the light, Our Lady of Good Success went into detail.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. – John 1:5
1. First Meaning: The Propagation of Heresies in the 19th and 20th Centuries
The first reason is the spread of various heresies from the end of the 19th century and throughout the 20th century, which at some point will take over: then “the precious light of the Faith will be extinguished in souls due to the almost total corruption of customs. During this time there will be great physical and moral catastrophes’. But even during this time there will be a “small number of souls” who will preserve, at the cost of much suffering, faith and virtue. Among these faithful, many will be counted as martyrs.
2. Second Meaning: Spiritual Catastrophe in the Convent of the Immaculate Conception
The second meaning concerns more strictly the monastery of Quito, theatre of the apparitions: even in the times of greatest tribulation, Mary Most Holy will have “faithful daughters”, but with a drastic drop in vocations, due to the presence of unworthy members and the creeping in of the work of the devil.
3. Third Meaning: Sensuality Will Sweep through the World
The third reason the lamp was extinguished is because of the spirit of impurity that will saturate the atmosphere in those times. Like a filthy ocean, it will inundate the streets, squares, and public places with an astonishing liberty. “ There will be almost no virgin souls in the world. The delicate flower of virginity, timid and threatened by complete destruction, will shine in the distance. Taking refuge in cloisters, it will find good soil there that will take root, grow, and live, its fragrance being the delight of my Most Holy Son and the shield against divine ire. Without virginity, it would be necessary for the fire of Heaven to fall upon these lands to purify them. In his malicious pride, the invidious and pestiferous Devil will try to intrude into even these closed gardens of the religious. But I will confront him and crush his head under my feet.”
Alas, how sorrowful! There will be careless souls who will voluntarily deliver themselves into his claws. Others, returning to the world, will be instruments of the Devil for the lost of Souls.
4. Forth Meaning: The Corruption of Children’s Innocence and the Crisis in the Clergy
The fourth reason lies in the growth of control over all social classes by Freemasonry, which “will be so cunning as to penetrate into the hearts of families to corrupt even children (…). During these unfortunate times, evil will assail the innocence of children and, in this way, vocations to the priesthood will be lost, and this will be a true disaster”. The Church, in general, will go through a “dark night”, especially because of the lukewarmness and negligence of so many priests and religious, lukewarmness that – warned Mary of Good Success – will delay the time when Jesus will send “to his Church the Prelate who will restore the spirit of his priests”.
The Fulfillment of Prophecies
Mother Mariana received the following prophecy from the Child Jesus (which contains other prophecies have already been fulfilled):
1. “The Dogma of the Immaculate Conception would be proclaimed during a time when the Church will be strongly attacked, and my Vicar will find himself a prisoner”
2. “This will also be the case with the Dogma of the faith of the Transit or Assumption, body and soul into Heaven of My Most Holy Mother…”
3. “I will preserve this Church, so beloved by Me, until the consummation of time. It will be strongly attacked, but never conquered. For, if men are lacking, from Heaven will I send down legions of Angels for its conservation, defense and triumph. Then He added: “A thousand times cursed be the heretics and their followers who place in doubt these mysteries concerning Me and My Mother. Let them be cursed! And let their eternal abode be the center of the earth, together with the father of the lie, Lucifer, and his henchmen, amidst the fire created by Divine Ire for the rebellious angels and the men who follow them, severing themselves from the truth outside the Catholic Church.”
We ask that you accept the messages of Our Lady of Good Success into your heart as a call to action as we travel the Road to the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Today is the time of loss of sacramental and sanctifying grace, as well as the loss of vocations, as Our Lady of Good Success pointed out. You are kindly requested to ask Her prayers for an increase in vocations in the Church or for greater respect for the sacraments.
